TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
1 Fly Continental from Newark, N.J.. Flight leaves about 8 am.
(Only one flight non-stop daily to San Jose, Costa Rica)
Cost: round-trip: about $350-370.
2. Arrive about 12:30 pm. at Alajuela (the airport is NOT in San Jose
but in Alaquela)
3. Take taxi to MUSOC (2222-2422) bus station (about $25 and about 30
minutes,
depending on traffic)
4. At bus station, purchase one way ticket with seat
assignment to San Isidro de El General
for about $6. Bus leave every hour--a GREAT ride!
5. Arriving at MUSOC bus station in San Isidro,
a few options are available (depending on where
you are headed):
a. someone could pick you up (but you need to
call that person to let him/her know the time of
arrival).
b. taxis are available (about $25 to Fanny's Cabinas,
about halfway to Dominical)
c. you could rent a car (4 x 4) in San Isidro for your stay
in the southern part of Costa Rica: Brunca Rent A Car,
8829-2136 (24 hrs.) or 2770-4953
6. OR, you could rent a car (4 x 4 mandatory) in Alaquela
near the airport and drive over the mountain to San Isidro,
and then to your destination. (About a 3 hour drive)
7. RETURNING:
Reverse the steps. (But the MUSOC Tel # in San Isidro
is 2771-0414)
