About
The Great River Craniosacral Therapy Institute:
The Great River Craniosacral Therapy Institute integrates personal
healing,
a love of nature, and respect for the sacred with humor and a
passion
for exploring the great unknown. Through this open-hearted training,
we
embark on a fascinating journey of exploration into new domains
of healing and
consciousness. Personalized, in-depth instruction in
Craniosacral Therapy, the
gentle and profound hands-on approach
to healing, is at the heart of the
program.
The continuous wave-like motion of the craniosacral rhythm
emanates
from the core of the body. With tide-like rhythmicity it travels along
fascial pathways to the body's periphery, except when obstructed
by restrictions from recent and long-standing trauma. We
use Craniosacral Therapy to release these trauma-induced restrictions. This
facilitates deep relaxation and healing.
The nurturing milieu of the training environment
provides
students with excellent opportunities
to become proficient craniosacral therapy
practitioners and to receive deep inner healing.
As taught by Dr. Ron Wish, the essence of
Craniosacral Therapy is:
-
supporting
the body's natural yearning for fluid motion, health, and vitality;
-
listening
with hands, mind, and heart to people's stories;
-
sensing
the craniosacral rhythm and obstructions to its flow;
-
following
clients' unconscious signals and facilitating their inner journeys;
-
releasing
structural and energetic blocks and healing trauma naturally.

This program
is for you if you are looking for an exciting healing journey or a
career-expanding adventure. Come
to better know and understand yourself and the world around you through this
richly rewarding, sacred process.
To support our natural, healing journey, we also explore
other domains of the sacred. We venture out into beautiful areas of the
lower Hudson Valley, share sweat lodges and other spontaneous group rituals, and
prepare a group feast at each weekend.
